MANAGEMENT COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY WHERE WE WORK
Critical in Thought. Careful to Lead
Our Commitment
ProtectCorp acknowledges that the public is a key interested party in the delivery of our services. Our work is performed in open and public environments and often involves high-risk activities, including the lawful carriage of firearms, transportation of cash and valuables, and interaction with members of the public.
This policy ensures that ProtectCorp’s commitment to quality, safety, psychological health, business continuity, and risk management extends beyond our workforce and clients, to the wider community in which we operate.
Public as an Interested Party
In accordance with ISO 9001, 45001, 45003, 22301, and 31000, ProtectCorp recognises that:
- The public has a right to feel safe when our employees perform work in public environments.
- Our operations present risks of collateral harm in the event of security incidents, accidents, or misuse of force.
- Community trust depends on the professionalism, behaviour, and vigilance of ProtectCorp employees.
- The public’s interests must be considered in risk assessment, emergency planning, and corrective actions.
Risks to the Community
ProtectCorp identifies and actively manages the following risks associated with operating in the community:
- Firearms risk – risk of accidental discharge, misuse, or loss of control.
- Public safety incidents – including robbery attempts, armed conflict, or collateral injury.
- Traffic and vehicle-related incidents – given the use of specialised security vehicles in public areas.
- Psychological risk – exposure of the public, bystanders, or employees to trauma during violent incidents.
- Reputation and trust – risks associated with negative media, public perception, or loss of confidence in our services.
How ProtectCorp Represents the Interests of the Public
ProtectCorp ensures that the interests of the public are upheld through:
- Employee Behaviour
Staff conduct themselves with professionalism, integrity, and discretion at all times. Firearms are carried only under lawful authority, and only by licensed and trained personnel. Employees are trained in de-escalation techniques, situational awareness, and respectful public interaction.
Risk Management and Safety Controls
Risks to the public are assessed and managed under the ProtectCorp Risk Register (ISO 31000).
- Business Continuity planning (ISO 22301) ensures critical services continue while minimising community disruption.
- Incident containment procedures are designed to protect bystanders first, before escalation or intervention.
Community Engagement and Feedback
- Community complaints or feedback are logged as PFB+ / PFB- (Public Feedback) and reviewed as part of the Complaints & Feedback framework.
- Opportunities for improvement arising from public interactions are escalated through the OFI Register and tabled at management review meetings.
Emergency Preparedness
- Drills and response plans account for the safety of the public during violent or disruptive events.
- Lessons learned from major incidents are reviewed through Extraordinary Management Reviews (ISO 45003).
Roles & Responsibilities
- All Staff – responsible for professional conduct and immediate containment of risks in public areas.
- Supervisors – ensure staff apply training and escalate community-related incidents or complaints.
- Business Support – records public complaints, feedback, and integrates learnings into continuous improvement.
- Executives – ensure resourcing, training, and leadership support to uphold community safety and trust.
Assurance & Review
This policy will be reviewed annually through the Integrated Management Review process, or sooner if a major incident or regulatory change occurs. Decisions, actions, and improvements are tracked through the Risk Register, Corrective Action Tool, and Audit Register to ensure that ProtectCorp continues to represent the interests of the public responsibly.
This policy affirms ProtectCorp’s role in the community: Critical in Thought. Care in Delivery.
